Best Balkan Books 2013

Have you seen our fabulous new titles for 2013?

Best Balkan Books 2013 – A Preivew

The end of the year is drawing near, and here at Istros Books HQ, Red Lion Square, we are busy preparing our 2013 titles. As you can see from the covers displayed here, the Best Balkan Books series comes with a whole new look, brought to you by our new designer: Milos Miljkovich, who originally hails from Serbia but now lives in Heraklion, Greece, so is a real Balkan boy himself. As you will be able to see, Milosh has bought a fresh, clean graphic look to Istros titles, along with a playful sense of humour, which can be seen in the cover for The Fairground Magician.

The four titles which form the 2013 series come from 3 different Balkan countries:The Fairground Magician and Ekaterini are both from Serbia, although a lot the action of Ekaterini – as the title suggests – takes place in Greece. Both authors are female, and their voices enrich and enhance the mainly male view we have show-cased so far

Sun Alley is the second novel of Romanian writer, Cecilia Stefansecu, and is a  story about the roots of adultery and the destiny of an exceptional young boy with the power to foresee his own future.

Last but not least, we have a second book from the award-winning Montenegrin author, Andrej Nikolaidis. The Son follows one extraordinary night in the life of a hero with no name, a writer whose life is about to fall apart.

Keep up to date with the best books of the dynamic Balkan region with Istros Books.
