Christopher Moncrieff talks about Eliade's and the beautiful art of nostalgia on ISTROS CONVERSATIONS
Writer and translator, Christopher Moncrieff, talks about his work on the up-coming title, Diary of a Short-Sighted Adolescent written when he was the same age as the book’s adolescent hero, and remained unpublished until it was found in an attic in Bucharest after the author’s death in 1986. As such it provides a unique insight into the early career of a great novelist and religious philosopher whose work has been neglected in the English language for too long.
Istros Conversations has been set up by Istros Books to talk about literature in translation and the process through which words are remade and thoughts conveyed across languages. Listen to interviews and discussions with authors, translators, and those working in the translation world.
